SL Unveils RTView 5.3 - Performance Management Software for Windows Apps

SL Corporation, a provider of real-time monitoring, analytics and visualization software, has released RTView 5.3, which includes an agentless adapter for the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) extensions. WMI is a set of Windows extensions that provides an operating system interface through which instrumented components of applications, including custom-built applications, can expose application performance metrics. WMI is implemented as a scripting language and can manage both local and remote computers.

The RTView WMI adapter allows users to enter these scripts to query metrics from any instrumented custom or packaged Microsoft application, including:

• Infrastructure metrics (e.g. percent CPU usage, memory usage, file system space, etc.)
• Windows event logs (on both local and remote computers)
• Applications installed (on both local and remote computers)
• SQL Server Events, availability, status and configuration
• Microsoft Exchange servers
• Microsoft IIS web servers
