A Very Simple C# Interview Question That Most Developers Fail

We interview a lot of people and usually go through
at least 3 interviews to select someone for the organization I work in.
A recent trend of new developers is baffling me. The newcomer to
development do not seem to know any of the basics. These newcomers
might know some Linq, Ajax and famous frameworks but they fail at very
simple OOP questions and fairly have very little or no idea about...

Extend WPF: Add Your Own Keywords And Functionality To XAML With Custom Markup Extensions

WPF is highly customizable and flexible. Also what
makes WPF even better is XAML, the markup based declaration language,
which is often associated to WPF but not limited to it. I am pretty
sure whoever is reading this post have already wrote few XAML based UI
and many of the readers have created a full blown WPF application. We
use many XAML extensions in our day to day applications. All of...

Who Ever Said LINQ Predicates Need To Be Boolean-Valued?

Back in the wonderful world of LINQ. This time I’d like to highlight
one of the most important properties of LINQ: its flexibility. On
various occasions I’ve already stated that the potential of LINQ is
infinity², the reason for it being the infinite fan-in (LINQ though C#,
VB, F#, PowerShell, various transport mechanisms, etc) multiplied by
the infinite fan-out (LINQ to SQL, Entities, XML,...

.NET MVC Controller Action Security Hole

The latest of Stephen Walther's invaluable ASP.Net MVC Tip series points out a MVC scenario that was previously unknown to me: passing cookies and server variables into controllers as action parameters. While the idea is neat, a comment left by Francois Ward
echoed my immediate skepticism over whether this could be safe. After
playing around I believe I have confirmed my suspicions that making...
