Bruce Johnson talks about the most exciting desktop features in Silverlight 4, which are slowly replacing WPF in many areas. One of the new features in Silverlight 4 is the Trusted Application model, which allows end-users and developers to access the deeper functions in Silverlight.   This model also allows access to the microphone and webcam, which are used in augmented reality applications.  In this video, you'll see a demonstration of augmented reality applications made using the Silverlight Augmented Reality (SLAR) toolkit.  Johnson also gives his predictions for the RIA landscape in the next 3-5 years.

Bruce Johnson is a Principal Consultant at Object Sharp.  His company trains developers who want to use the latest technologies from the .NET platform.
